Supreme has just released some images of a few of the items from their collaboration with The North Face for Spring/Summer 2011. Among the outdoor-themed releases are a set of branded sleeping bags in red, black, and camouflage colorways as well as matching water-resistant anoraks and caps with a checked print in black and grey, red and blue, and yellow and white colorways. Stay tuned for more from the collection, expected to drop soon at select retailers.
COMME des GARCONS and its various subsequent lines have maintained a fun and re-appropriative aesthetic throughout their shirts. Utilizing paneling or extraneous elements to offer on a platform that is otherwise unchanged in its root form offers some notable releases including this new range which takes on an almost nautical flag feel. Available now at I.T Hysan in Causeway Bay.
Fresh off seeing NEXUSVII’s 2011 Spring/Summer “You Are My Sunshine” Collection inspired by Hawaii, the brand presents a concentrated look into bags with Porter. As part of their “MADMAXX” line, vintage fabrics are at the heart of each of the bags as they contain some classic Hawaiian prints. Three styles include a backpack, messenger bag and two different totebag styles.
Designed by a trio of labels known for producing high quality designs, it should come as no surprise that this collaboration between Waste(twice), Porter and B Yoshida resulted in a briefcase that combines various details from each of their respective aesthetics. Featuring an exquisite blend of vintage and contemporary elements, the bag uses a shell made from a combination of PVC-coated canvas with two front-facing studded flap pockets, leather detail on the trim and handles and an adjustable shoulder strap. Available for pre-order now through BEAMS.
In a collaboration that fuses form with function, Porter has teamed up with New York-based snowboard apparel and accessory company ISAORA to design this backpack. With a depth of 25L, the bag is large enough to store quite a number of items and even includes an internal padded pocket for laptop and iPad storage. With a highly durable ballistic nylon shell, the backpack can withstand almost anything on the slopes and also features denim panels, riri zips and a drawstring fastening to keep your items secure. The bag is available for purchase now through JUICE.
In a rare move for mastermind JAPAN, they stray away from their signature use of black as part of a continued partnership with workwear brand Carhartt. The Double Front Logger Pant features Carhartt’s traditional brown color in a heavyduty fabric with branding provided via gold embroidery as well as black woven tags on the pockets. A release is set for April 16.
This high top sneaker from Comme des Garçons features a genuine suede upper with contrast stitching, white laces and a white rubber sole that only gets better with age. Additionally, a brown leather detailing accents the toe cap, front of the sole and heel tab. Made in Japan, the shoe is available in black and brown colorways for $3550 HKD (approximately $450 USD) and can be purchased through Comme des Garçons.
Since the onset, OriginalFake has done a remarkable job of pairing technical fabrics with more subdued and fashion-driven aesthetics. With several marquee pieces each season, a new release features the WINDSTOPPER GINGHAM TAILORED JACKET. The fitted jacket features a gingham material with GORE’s WINDSTOPPER fabric as well as several pockets.
For Spring/Summer 2011, Fred Perry has teamed up with Stussy Deluxe to deliver an assortment of footwear and accessories as part of their Blank Canvas collection. Using an unique combination of leather and canvas (a classic Fred Perry staple), the collection features a series of two-tone bags including a hold-all tote with a large pocket compartment on the front as well as a barrel bag with a double-zip closure and size zip compartment. Both bags are available in black and white as well as red and white colorways. The collection also features footwear including a mesh low top sneaker available in black and white and a canvas mid-top with a contrast striped band around the ankle that’s also available in red and white and black and white.
Essential Designs has maintained a seasonal relationship with Porter as the two brands are consistent purveyors of a special capsule. This time around, a piece worth mentioning is the Paisley Wrap Multi Case. Featuring a paisley pattern, the case itself features a simplistic fastening system with a raw piece of leather. A small key fob can also be seen in the design.
A new model to debut from visvim is the GILA MOC MID-FOLK. Based on a simplistic and minimal upper, the laceless boot features two side ties to fasten the shoe. In addition to the kudu leather upper is a linerless construction, cowhide midsole and Vibram outsole. A release will begin as of this week through various visvim channels. The shoe will also be available in several colors.
Adding another store under its wings, visvim announces the opening of a second F.I.L. location in Hong Kong, set to make its debut on March 26. The new space will play host to a selection of exclusive items made specifically for the opening, including a long-sleeve weld shirt, gold-lined henley and a pair of tri-tone deck shoes. Stay tuned for further information on the location as the opening date nears, until then a preview of the items is seen here.
As part of a release in conjunction with Vans for Spring/Summer 2011, Supreme has updated several of the footwear label’s classic models, including the Old Skools. Available in six different colorways, the updated version still features the suede and mesh upper and will be available both in-store and online starting March 17th, with a release date of March 19th for Japan.
Following its inception a few years ago, CLOT has embraced the Alienegra motif originally created by Japanese artist Madsaki. A new re-working of the urban camouflage injects KAWS’ signature styles with a reflective “X” style printed delicately via layers. Furthermore, Kazuki Kuraishi is also an addition to the release here with the careful placement of each “X”. The KAWS x CLOT Alienegra Parka will be available at JUICE HK as of March 18 with a retail price of $3,280 HKD (approximately $420 USD).

One of the highlights in the Stussy 2011 Spring Collection is a guest artist series of T-shirts designed in collaboration with Chicago-based artist Cody Hudson. Having executed a number of significant projects throughout the past couple of years, Hudson has become widely recognized for his production of clean, multi-dimensional graphics, with his design aesthetic being part urban modernism and part organic visual deconstruction. Previewed last year, UNDERCOVER and Bounty Hunter have finally released this leather biker jacket from their Spring/Summer 2011 collaboration. Here’s a look into a new take on the FBT as visvim unveils a studded version of its popular moccasin shoe. Done up in two leather colorways for Spring 2011, the kicks pair a beautiful buttery suede upper with traditional leather lace detailing and gold studs embellished on the flaps. New Era announces the opening of New Era Tokyo, its eighth Flagship store location globally. Centrally located in Harajuku, the 1,100 square foot store will officially open on February 26, 2011, bringing headwear, branded apparel and lifestyle accessories to one of the world’s premier cities. New Era Tokyo will collaborate regularly with Japanese artists and brands, offering flagship-exclusive products to those who visit the store. Special edition caps from New Era’s EK Collection along with a variety of other items will be available at the flagship’s Grand Opening. The look and feel of the NEW ERA TOKYO Flagship store reflects New Era’s goal of elevating consumer’s experience and further raising the profile of the brand’s breadth of line.
